Concerts in the park

From the New York Phil's website

The New York Philharmonic's free concerts in Central Park (the next one is July 15th) are one of the great pleasures of living in New York City. Tons of lovely music, marvelously good people watching, a few fireworks, good times for all. They remind me of going to the Hollywood Bowl when I was growing up, except they're free.

I (heart) you, Hollywood Bowl

In my Hollywood Bowl going days, we used to pack picnics with all sorts of delicious drinks and sandwiches and I'm sure plenty of desserts. I showed up empty handed to the NY Phil the other day and kind of wish I'd had one of these, well stocked of course.

While I saw plenty of adorable picnic baskets being lugged around, I came straight from work via the gym and this just seems a bit more practical. Too bad it's a million dollars.
